Can I just say….teachers are amazing! While I want to definitely share more of my thoughts in the future, I feel that today’s most helpful information is resources.
Whether your school is cancelling classes, prepping for remote learning or will stay on campus through the duration of this current virus outbreak, I want to offer resources that might help. While I of course do not have everything listed here, I hope this can reduce your amount of search time.
- Newsela is offering free use throughout the remainder of this schoolyear. Click here to sign up and access their remote teaching toolkit.
- Read The World offers distance learning support.
- Amazing educational resources– This is a large spreadsheet of available resources. It can feel a bit overwhelming, but is in alphabetical order allowing you to search for specific tools you might already use. Some of these sites are always free while others are offering specific support for the remainder of this school year.
- Book Creator.com is offering free upgrades and ideas for our their software can support your classroom needs.
- Brain Pop is offering a special webinar on Monday, March 16th to share ways to work remotely with your students using their program. Sign up here.
- Google Classrooms- If you are not already using google classrooms, this is an easy set up through your google account. The google classrooms provides a central location for all of your materials and links very effectively into many other educational programs.
- Google Meet- provides a video conferencing option for classes.
- Kahoot
As I am sure you are aware, there are MANY more resources available. A quick Google search will provide you with more resources than you have time to filter through.
My prayer for each of you would be that God would remain your constant through this “unknown” in the teaching world. Teachers are resilent. Teachers are problem solvers. Teachers are creative. Let God be your peace.
Happy teaching!
