I Knew What I Had…

This will be short.

My current day is full of unknowns. Life feels uncertain. My heart hurts for the pain in our world. It aches for the moments in time that have been lost.

This morning I received a link to this song. I listened (and am still listening) with tears flowing. Tears that have been tucked away for the last 12 weeks of remote learning. Tears that I have hidden because I needed to be strong for my students. Tears held back as I wondered if I had done everything I could. Tears for lost opportunities. Tears muted as students sent kind words, and I was unsure how to respond. Tears for what I felt we had lost.

“I knew what I had was worth holding on.”

This song, written by two amazing young men for the class of 2020, can speak to all of us. Isn’t this how we should be living life always? I can not say much more. Take a listen for yorself.

Once again, leave it to students to say what many of us are unable to speak.

***SO PROUD to know these young men/former students. It has been a privilege working with them at school and watching them grow in their faith! Stay true to your God and His calling for your life.
